The Minnesota Wild took down the Los Angeles Kings 3-1 on Friday to earn their fifth straight win.

The Gopher men's basketball team lost their 4th game in a row Thursday night 67-59 at home against Northwestern. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. He says this was a bad loss and now makes the NCAA tournament an unlikelihood for them.

The Minnesota Wild extended their winning streak to 4 games with a 6-2 win at Colorado Wednesday night. Star Tribune Sports Columnist joined me on WJON today. He say rookie Kirill Kaprizov helped set up a pair of goals last night and has been very impressive during this stretch.

The Timberwolves introduced Chris Finch as their new head coach at a news conference Monday. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan joined me on WJON today. Jim says Finch worked with Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations Gerson Rosas in Houston.

The Wild will play at Colorado Wednesday night at 8 p.m. The game can be heard on AM 1390 Granite City Sports.

The Timberwolves lost 103-98 at New York against the Knicks Sunday night. The loss is the 8th in their last 9 and drops Minnesota to a NBA worst 7-24. Souhan thought the Wolves front office wanted to see how Saunders would do with a healthy Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell as the same time but it seems apparent that the team just wasn't getting better under Saunders.

Former Twins 2nd baseball Brian Dozier announced his retirement from baseball at the age of 33 Thursday. Dozier played 7 seasons for the Twins and hit 167 homeruns. Jim says Dozier came up as a short stop with some power and ability to hit for power and turned himself into a pull power hitter and gold glove 2nd baseman.

The Wild and Ducks will match up again on Saturday night. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m. on AM 1240 and FM 95.3 WJON.

The Minnesota Wild returned to games for the first time in 2 weeks after postponing 6 games due to Covid-19 protocols. The Wild lost 4-0 at Los Angeles against the Kings Tuesday night.
