ST. PAUL -- Congresswoman Michele Bachmann will hold a news conference in St. Paul Monday to discuss Interstate 94 and Highway 10 between the Twin Cities and St. Cloud.

Bachmann's comments come as a coalition of businesses, individuals and state agencies work to expand I-94 between Rogers and St. Cloud to six lanes.

The I-94 West Corridor Coalition cites congestion and safety as two barriers to keeping the corridor a thriving freight and tourism route.

According to the coalition, I-94 from St. Michael to Highway 23 in St. Cloud accounts for 40% of the congestion on MnDOT's Interregional Corridor System but accounts for less than 2% of the system length.

Bachmann holds her transportation news conference at 10:00 a.m. Monday at the State Office Building.
