Apollo’s Abukar Questionable For State Tourney
The St. Cloud Apollo boys basketball team qualified for the Class 3A State tournament with a win Thursday night over Detroit Lakes. Senior guard Ibrahim Abukar had 17 points and 7 rebounds for the Eagles in the win. He is questionable to play Wednesday in the state quarterfinals because of an unselfish act he is about to do. He will undergo surgery Monday to extract bone morrow to give to his ailing 13-year sister who's in need of a bone marrow transplant. Ibrahim is a match for his sister's bone marrow and has agreed to give his to help her recover. Abukar is the starting point guard for Apollo.
