RICE -- Central Minnesota residents interested in the Little Rock Creek watershed are invited to another meeting tomorrow (Wednesday). More than 100 residents turned out for a January meeting to discuss sustainable groundwater use in the Little Rock Creek area of Benton and Morrison counties.

The DNR says groundwater use in the area is increasing at a faster rate than the statewide average and the risk of overuse also increases the risk of contamination.

The area up for discussion extends from the north end of Little Rock Lake in Benton County to the Skunk River in Morrison County.

The DNR is working with the Little Rock Creek Sustainable Groundwater Use Planning Project Advisory Team to ensure a sustainable watershed plan.

The meeting will be held at Rice City Hall at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday).
