STILLWATER, Minn. (AP) -- A man accused of killing a 9-year-old Oakdale boy while randomly shooting at traffic will get another mental evaluation.

A judge on Friday granted a defense request for another medical review of Nanh Lap Tran.

He is charged with killing fourth-grader Devin Aryal as the boy rode home from day care with his mother in February 2013.

Reports Judge Gary Schurrer suspended Tran's court proceedings for 60 days.

He also delayed February's scheduled jury trial.

Prosecutor Jessica Stott says the Washington County Attorney's office plans to prosecute once Tran is deemed competent.

Tran has spent the past 17 months at the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center.

He is accused of walking about a block from his home in Oakdale and randomly shooting at cars driving by.
