Another Area Lake Added to No Wake Advisory

STEARNS COUNTY — Another area lake is being added to the "No Wake Advisory" list thanks to heavy rains expected during the weekend.

The Lakes already included on the list are:

-Two Rivers Lake
-Chain of Lakes
-Sauk River
-Koronis Lake
-Rice Lake
-Big Lake
-Carnelian Lake
-Beaver Lake
-Caroline/Maria chain of Lakes 

On Friday, the Stearns County Sheriff's Office added Big Fish Lake in Collegeville Township to the list.

The weekend forecast is predicting possible heavy rain and storms in Central Minnesota.

Stearns County area lakes are currently experiencing unusually high water levels. In particular, the Chain of Lakes and Sauk River area around Cold Spring and Richmond as well as Two Rivers Lake in the St. Anna area are especially high.

Boat operators should slow down to create no wake or waves from their boat. Water patrol officers will be out on area lakes this weekend to remind boaters to follow these recommendations.
