The Twins lost 7-1 in Anaheim to the Angels Thursday night. Francisco Liriano threw 5 innings with 10 hits and 7 earned runs allowed to take the loss and drop to 7-9. Jim Thome hit a solo homerun, his 9th this season and #598 in his career. Dan Haren threw 8 innings with 5 hits and 1 earned run allowed to get the win and improve to 12-6. Mark Trumbo hit a 3-run homerun for the Angels.
The Twins are 51-60 and are 8 games back of Detroit for first place in the American League Central. Minnesota will host the Chicago White Sox tonight beginning a 6-game homestand and 3-game series at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40. Righthander Nick Blackburn (7-8) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander Mark Buehrle (8-5) toes the rubber for the White Sox.
