Adrian Peterson's comeback from a torn ACL was beyond remarkable. Peterson didn't just come back and perform at an elite level, instead he record the second most rushing yards in league history with 2,097.

Peterson was rewarded for his efforts Saturday night in New Orleans with a trophy honoring him as the Most Valuable Player of the National Football League.

Peterson carried a Vikings team that finished 3-13 in 2011 to a record of 10-6 and a playoff berth in 2012. Peterson is the first Viking to be named the most valuable player since Fran Tarkenton in 1975. Alan Page is the only other Viking to win the award (1972).

Earlier in the evening Peterson was named the league's Offensive Player of the Year.
