The St. Cloud City Council will consider some amendments to the city's liquor ordinances, thanks to changes in state law. Earlier this year the State Legislature approved, and Governor Mark Dayton signed, a bill broadening alcohol sales.

After months of negotiations, the St. Cloud City Council has approved a 10-year Franchise Agreement with Charter Communications. The agreement does not prevent another cable company from coming in to town. Brian Grogan has been negotiating the contract on behalf of the city.

Some students at St. Cloud's North Junior High want safety improvements made at a busy intersection near their school. The "Community Problem Solving" team is asking the city council tonight (Monday) to approve a little over $16,000 for several upgrades at the intersection of 12th Street North and 29th Avenue North.

Members of the St. Cloud City Council continue to have concerns about the plan for the Aquatic and Community Center. The council discussed the design and budget during a work study session this (Monday) evening.

The planned St. Cloud Aquatic and Community Center continues to take shape. The projected cost for the 100,000 square foot building is just under $25 million, which is down from the original estimate of $27 million.

St. Cloud will be using a state grant to help market the airline service that we still have. The St. Cloud city council has approved accepting a grant from the Minnesota Department of Transportation in the amount of just over $14,000, with a local match of just over $6,000.

A land swap that would help pave the way for a new St. Cloud Technical High School could to take another step forward tonight (Monday). The city council is expected to approve the deal during their meeting, which will trade 40-acres of city-owned land to the St. Cloud Area School District in exchange for 66-acres of land.

A franchise agreement between the city of St. Cloud and Charter Communications hasn't been finalized yet. That's despite a public hearing that was held on the issue during tonight's (Monday) city council meeting. As a result, the frustrated council has voted to move forward with a plan to enforce the cable company's violation of moving the PEG channels back in August, without the city's approval.
