The St. Cloud City Council has approved the liquor licenses for three new businesses. Lupine Brewing Company, in the former O'Hara's Brewhouse location, has been granted two special liquor licenses. Konrads is a new wine bar and bistro that will be coming to a historic building in downtown St. Cloud. The new Pizza Hut bar that's being planned at 305 5th Avenue South.

A new 10-year contract between Charter Communications and the city of St. Cloud is not a done-deal yet. The St. Cloud City Council heard specifics in the deal so far during their work study session this (Monday) evening.

It appears the city of St. Cloud and Charter Communications are close to finally coming to terms on a new franchise agreement. During the city council meeting tonight (Monday) the council set a public hearing on the agreement for February 23rd. They also approved an extension of the existing agreement to that date.

The St. Cloud City Council has approved a contract to replace the seats at the Paramount Theatre. The low bid of just over $342,000 has been awarded to Alliance Building Corporation of Sauk Rapids for the removal of the existing 704 seats, make some repairs to the floor, and install 808 new seats.

St. Cloud has put up the "Help Wanted" sign. The city council has approved the budget for 2015, which includes the hiring of 10 new employees. Mayor Dave Kleis says the additional staff are needed, after years of belt-tightening.

There's a plan in the works to build a new 18-hole mini golf course on the west side of St. Cloud. The city council is holding a public hearing tonight (Monday) during their regular meeting.

After recounting the votes today (Friday) in St. Cloud city council ward 2, the results are pretty much the same. Nancy Gohman has come out ahead of challenger Sonja Hayden Berg.

A tight race for one St. Cloud city council seat is headed for a recount. City Clerk Gregg Engdahl says they'll recount the ballots in Ward 2 this Friday.
