Recount Possible in Gohman, Berg St. Cloud City Council Race

ST. CLOUD - The race between Nancy Gohman and Sonja Hayden Berg for St. Cloud City Council Ward 2 could be heading for a recount.

In the initial results, Gohman has 1,874 votes, while Sonja Hayden Berg is trailing by just 11 votes with 1,863.

The city will wait until the 10th of November for the votes to be finalized. If the results hold, Berg can request a recount for no charge. A recount could then be done near the end of November.

Gohman recently resigned from her seat due to a conflict of interest when the council awarded the construction contract for the Aquatic Center to Gohman’s husband’s company Gohman Construction.

However, Gohman tells WJON that she plans to take the city council seat if the election results hold.
