ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud City Council will consider some amendments to the city's liquor ordinances, thanks to changes in state law.

Earlier this year the State Legislature approved, and Governor Mark Dayton signed, a bill broadening alcohol sales. The new law allows craft breweries to sell 64-ounce growlers on Sundays, it also allows bars and restaurants to start serving drinks at 8:00 a.m. on Sundays - two hours earlier than currently allowed. However, local governments have to agree to changes for their city.

The St. Cloud city council will set a public hearing for June 8th, during which they'll also consider a $50 annual license fee for the ability to sell growlers on Sundays.
