You might notice some low-flying helicopters along Interstate 94, between Freeport and Alexandria. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the helicopter is part of the CapX2020 utility installation.
A judge has refused to delay construction of a major new power line in southeastern North Dakota while an appeal is pending. The line is part of the CapX2020 project, which is intended to bolster the reliability of the electric transmission network that serves many of Minnesota's largest cities.
The CapX2020 Monticello to St. Cloud power line went active today. The 345 Kilovolt transmission line covers 28 miles between the two communities and will improve the service reliability in St. Cloud and Monticello.
The State Public Utilities Commission has approved 10 route changes to the CAPX2020 project. The changes to the high voltage transmission line are along the route from St. Cloud to Freeport.
