Buxton passed his physical Tuesday and took batting practice with the Twins. He's expected to start his pro career at rookie camp in Fort Myers, Florida with a likely promotion coming soon to play in Elizabethton, Tennessee. Buxton was the 2nd overall pick in the first round in the baseball draft last Monday.

The 18-year old outfielder was selected in the first round (2nd overall) by the Twins in last Monday's baseball draft. Buxton is considered a 5-tool player right out of high school in Georgia. The new agreement with Buxton and the Twins is contingent on Buxton passing a physical today. Buxton is expected to report to rookie camp in Fort Myers, Florida.

Buxton was considered by many to be the best prospect in the draft. Houston chose first and picked shortstop Carlos Correa. Buxton is 6'2 190 pounds with great speed, solid bat and great arm. He's been clocked at 99 MPH when pitching.
