Flying sure has changed over the years. Of course, the level of security is a good thing, and worth the extra time and measures that we have to go through to get where we need to go.

Another area that has changed while flying is the meal or snack that was provided. Obviously for some flights that last under a certain amount of time, offering food and beverage service doesn’t make sense. But for other flights, options have dwindled or been eliminated.

Airlines tend to offer perks and opportunities to those who join their frequent flyer membership. Flying for some people is like voting, what I mean is that some folks they don’t want to vote a straight ticket and in the same vein they don’t want to only fly one airline.

Here’s a reason to maybe reconsider the airline part of that equation. The Morning Brew cites an article from Yahoo that says Delta Airlines has announced they will be rolling out a tasty perk to those customers who have “Sky miles” and sit in first class on longer flights.

Beginning December 1st, on flights out of Boston, Delta will be adding Shake Shack burgers to their options for those specific customers. Delta says that burgers are a popular choice on the longer flights and there are several reasons to partner with Shake Shack, the first of which is how tasty their burgers are.

Another reason is that patrons who choose the burger from Shake Shack will also get chips, a Caesar salad and a dark chocolate brownie as well.

The Shake Shack Cheeseburger Meal again will be for Delta flights out of Boston that are more than 900 miles for first class customers. The airline says they expect to expand this next year to other U.S. cities.

I can’t help but wonder if this will be like everything else in life, it starts out being offered to those who can afford the deal, but less expensive options will be available in the not-so-distant future.

Airlines and restaurants becoming partners for in-flight food could be a win-win for both of them and a win for the customers too.
