ST. CLOUD - Both St. Cloud RadioShack stores have been added to a potential closure list.

St. Cloud has two RadioShack locations, one inside the Crossroads Mall and another in the Division Place Shopping Center at 2932 Division Street. Both are on the list, which accounts for about 40 percent Radioshacks locations.

The long-struggling electronics chain filed for bankruptcy protection on Thursday. RadioShacks website says General Wireless (an affiliate of Standard General)  has agreed to buy between 1,500 to 2,400 store locations.

Part of the plan is for Sprint, the Number 3 U.S. wireless carrier, to open mini-shops in up to 1,750 of RadioShack's stores. Radioshack is seeking to close the remainder of its 4,000 U.S. stores.

WJON will continue to monitor the two locations. The stores are continuing to run until they are restructured or closed.

RadioShack was founded in Boston in 1921 as a distributor of mail-order ship radios, ham radios and parts.
