Shakopee, Minnesota amusement park Valleyfair is teaming up with the American Cancer Society's Gold Together initiative to support childhood cancer.

Donors who give $75 or more are invited to Valleyfair on August 23rd, 2024 for rides, a catered lunch and a program at the park. There is also an opportunity to sponsor a Gold Together family as well, which costs $500.

"Gold Together is more than an initiative; it's a lifeline for families facing the unimaginable," Lynn Poferl, Minnesota Gold Together Chair and Volunteer said in a press release.

“Knowing firsthand the impact this disease can have on not only your child but anyone their life touches, we strive to bring hope, resources, and support to those affected by childhood cancer, ensuring no one has to face this journey alone."

Valleyfair's own charitable organization, Valleyfair Cares, says they are teaming with Gold Together to help raise money towards eradicating childhood cancer.

“We are thrilled to partner with the American Cancer Society’s Gold Together initiative to raise necessary funds toward eradicating childhood cancer,” said Raul Rehnborg, Valleyfair’s Vice President and General Manager in a press release. “This collaboration exemplifies our shared commitment to bringing hope and support to children and families affected by childhood cancer. We hope the community will join us for this inspiring event.”
