ST. CLOUD -- You can get rid of your old used electronic equipment later this week.

United Way of Central Minnesota is holding a Device Drive on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the parking lot of Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union at 2835 West St. Germain Street in St. Cloud.

Accepted donations include computer towers and desktops, laptops, LCD monitors, tablets and cellphones (must be restored to factory settings), servers, printers, keyboards, and mice.

United Way is working with Minnesota Tech for Success to help close the digital divide. Minnesota Tech For Success recycles and repairs donated electronics and repurposes them to provide technology access and skills training to people who need them. They do follow strict security practices and all donations are scrubbed for data and tested.

LOOK: Things from the year you were born that don't exist anymore

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
