FOLEY -- Foley is down to two candidates for the open City Administrator position.

This evening (Tuesday) the city council held an interview to hear from the remaining candidates -- Diane Miller and Robert Barbian.

Interim City Administrator Bruce Watkins says tonight's interviews are meant as an informational interview for the council members.

Miller is a former City Administrator for the cities of Canby, MN and Siren, Wisc. She has worked in city administration for 17 years, with experience in management skills, including HR, communications and finance. She has also been responsible for economic development projects that resulted in new jobs.

Barbian was the Director of Development for the city of New Richmond. He held the position for 16 years. During his time, he helped coordinate budgets, and worked on grant projects that totaled more than a million dollars.

Watkins says it was their background experience that helped separate them from the other 30 applicants.

Watkins says after tonight's meeting the council will decide which candidate to offer the contract.

The candidate would also take on the roles of clerk and treasurer.

Watkins says they hope to officially offer the job to one of the candidates at their next council meeting on Tuesday.

The position became available after former City Administrator Sarah Brunn stepped down in April.
