The Twins called up first baseman Chris Parmelee from triple-A Rochester and sent righthander Cole DeVries to triple-A Rochester to make room for Parmelee.  Parmelee was batting .375 with 4 homeruns and 12 RBIs at triple-A.  He was hitting .179 in 27 games with the Twins to begin the season.  DeVries was 1-1 with a 4.20 ERA in 3 starts for the Twins.

The Twins were off Thursday and will open a 3-game series at home against the Chicago Cubs tonight at 7:10, pregame on WJON at 6:40.  Righthander P.J. Walters (2-1) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and lefthander Travis Wood (0-2) toes the rubber for the Cubs.
