ST. CLOUD -- The swollen Sauk River continues to cause headaches for area rescue crews.

The St. Cloud Fire Department was called to the river today after two men freed-up a sunken rescue boat.

The fire department's boat took on water during Wednesday's rescue of people hung up while tubing down the river. The fire department decided at the time to leave the boat until the water receded. But fire officials say two men in a canoe freed the boat and it floated down river before getting hung up on the Highway 15 bridge abutment.

The men got off the river and called the St. Cloud Fire Department.

Fire crews arrived this afternoon and recovered the stranded boat.

All of the commotion backed up traffic on Highway 15 while the crews recovered their equipment.

It's the third rescue-type call in about a week to the Sauk River which remains part of a flood warning for our area.
