The White Sox beat the Twins 11-8 Wednesday night in the rubber game of the 3-game series. Alejandro De Aza hit a grand slam homerun off Brian Duensing to break the game wide open. Justin Morneau was 3-5 with 2 homeruns and 3 RBIs and Joe Mauer went 2-4 with a homerun and 2 runs scored. Morneau has 8 homeruns and Mauer has 2 homeruns this season. Brian Dozier hit a 2-run single for Minnesota.

Former Major League Baseball star pitcher Bret Saberhagen will be the guest of the St. Cloud Rox for their home opener on June 2. Saberhagen will throw out the first pitch at Joe Faber Field against Mankato at 7:05 on June 2. He pitched 16 seasons in the Major Leagues with the Kansas City Royals, New York Mets, Colorado Rockies and Boston Red Sox. Saberhagen won a Cy Young Award in the American League while with the Royals in 1985. He was 20-6 with a 2.87 ERA in 1985 and helped the Royals win a World Series over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Minnesota Wild have signed top prospect Mikael Granlund to a 3-year $2.7 Million contract. The contract includes $90,000 in bonus money annually. He is ranked as the #2 overall prospect in the Hockey News Future Watch. Granlund scored 40 points in 43 games as a 17-year old in the Finnish Elite League. As a 19-year old last season he led the HIFK in regular season scoring.
