St. Joseph is looking to possibly add a city community development director to its staff in the near future. The community development director would be responsible for planning and economic development needs of St. Joseph.

A Richmond woman was hurt after being involved in a two car crash near St. Joseph yesterday (Tuesday) morning. The incident happened just before 7:00 a.m. at the intersection of Stearns County Road 133 and 322 Street in St. Wendel Township, about two miles north of St. Joseph.

St. Joseph continued discussing a proposed $6.1 million water park on Monday night. The city council reviewed the project after confusion and frustration arose among members during a meeting in June. Some council members voiced concerns about operating costs, rainy weather impacting an outdoor water park and finding a specific location for the park before moving forward.

St. Joseph is weighing the possibility of putting in a dog park in town. The park board presented the idea to the city council on Monday night. A possible location for the park is a five-acre site between Fir Street and Highway 75.

St. Joseph city council members still have questions on the proposed $6.1 million aquatic center project. A few members would like to revisit potential locations and maintenance costs before the project moves forward. Several say they would like to find a specific location picked for the project before moving forward with soil borings, which would cost the city $6,000-$8,000.

A nearly 100 acre distribution center could be coming to St. Joseph. St. Joseph Mayor Rick Schultz says a developer is looking into the possiblity of building the center in town. City documents say the proposed location for the center would be near 19th Avenue Northeast and County Road 133.
