St. Ben's basketball is seeded 4th and will host 5th seeded Gustavus Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in the MIAC tournament quarterfinals at Claire Lynch Hall in St. Joseph. The Bennies are 12-4 in their last 16 games and have won 5 of their last 6.
The 11th ranked St. John's basketball team put their 11-game win streak on the line when they host St. Olaf Saturday at 3pm. The Johnnnies are 12-1 overall and haven't lost a game since November 16 when they lost to UW-Whitewater.
St. Ben's basketball won their 2nd straight Wednesday night 63-56 over Gustavus. St. Ben's led 30-19 at halftime and held on in the 2nd half. The Bennies were led in scoring by Megan Thompson with 15 points and Maddie Schmitz added 13 points.
The St. Ben's basketball team is primed to make a playoff push. The 21st ranked Blazers are 22-3 overall and 16-2 in the MIAC. The Blazers are seeded 2nd in the MIAC tournament behind top seeded St. Thomas.
The St. Ben's basketball team downed UW-Superior 61-58 last night to improve to 3-0 this season. The Blazers led by 4 at halftime and held on in the 2nd half. Niki Fokken led the Blazers with 18 points and Maddie Schmitz added 13 points.
St. Ben's hired Sauk Centre native Kali Peschel as an Assistant Coach. Peschel was recruited to St. Ben's by head coach Mike Durbin but she chose to go to Division I Iowa. Peschel scored 498 points and had 382 rebounds in her 4-year career for the Hawkeyes in Iowa City.
