The St. Cloud State University softball team dropped both games in their conference opening double header against the University of Minnesota-Duluth on Saturday.
The Sartell-St. Stephen softball team downed Sauk Rapids-Rice 11-4 before topped Alexandria 6-5 to stay alive in the Section 8-3-A tournament. Courtney Deters was 3-4 with 2 RBIs in game 2 for the Sabres. Sartell will play Detroit Lakes at 2pm Wednesday in Bemidji in an elimination game...
The high school softball playoffs continue for some and start for others today. In Section 6-AA Cathedral plays Annandale at 5pm in Waite Park while Royalton plays Pierz at 5pm in Waite Park. Cathedral downed Foley 15-3 yesterday in 5 innings to advance to this point.
The long winter of indoor spring sports practices appears to be over. Lots of high school baseball, softball, tennis, and golf will be played this week. Sartell-St. Stephen baseball will play at Big Lake this afternoon at 4:30. The Sabres will also play at Fergus Falls tomorrow.
