The Gopher men's basketball lost their 3rd straight road game of the Big Ten season 82-57 Wednesday night to fall to 3-3 in the Big Ten and 10-3 overall. Jim says the Gophers just haven't played well on the road. Factors could be different rims and environment or the travel but with no fans that can't be the issue.
Michigan beat the Gophers 34-13 Saturday to keep the Little Brown Jug on their sideline again. Minnesota scored the first touchdown of the game but trailed 14-7 at halftime. Philip Nelson was 13-29 passing for 142 yards and 1 touchdown with no interceptions and 37 yards rushing. Donnell Kirkwood led the Gophers rushing for 58 yards on 16 carries.
MN-Duluth defeated Notre Dame 4-3 in the first of two national semifinals in the Frozen Four at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul Thursday. J.T. Brown and Kyle Schmidt each scored goals for the Bulldogs. Michigan upset North Dakota 2-0 in the nightcap and Michigan goes for their 10th national championship Saturday night against MN-Duluth at 7pm.
