Minnesota Lynx star Maya Moore says she is not ready to return to the WNBA.

Former Minnesota Lynx player Maya Moore has been working hard to get Jonathan Irons released from prison in Missouri. That goal was realized earlier this week. Star Tribune Sports Columnist Jim Souhan says Irons is a black man who was wrongfully imprisoned for a crime he did not commit and Moore left the Lynx to push for his release.

Maya Moore made it known yesterday that she will not be returning to the WNBA and the Minnesota Lynx this season. She will sit out a 2nd WNBA season while she works against social injustice. Jim Souhan doesn't expect Moore to return.

Maya Moore made the winning free throws with 11.8 seconds remaining for the last of her career-high 38 points in the Minnesota Lynx's 94-93 victory over the Tulsa Shock on Friday night.

Seimone Augustus led the Lynx with 23 points, Maya Moore had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Lindsay Whalen added 12 points for the Lynx. The Lynx shot 39 percent while Indiana shot 43 percent.

The Minnesota Lynx downed the L.A. Sparks 80-79 Sunday to win the Western Conference Finals 2 games to none. Candice Parker made a late 3-pointer from 30 feet away before Monica Wright responded with a 3-pointer of her own to put the Lynx back on top. Alana Beard missed a 16-foot shot at the buzzer that would have won the game for L.A.

The Minnesota Lynx won game 1 of the Western Conference Finals 94-77 Thursday night. Maya Moore led the Lynx with 20 points, Seimone Augustus added 16 points and Rebekkah Brunson chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Lindsay Whalen played with a sprained wrist. She wore a brace on the wrist.

The Minnesota Lynx won 73-72 at home against Seattle in deciding game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals Tuesday night. Lauren Jackson missed a baseline jumper that would have given Seattle the lead as time was running down. Seimone Augustus led the Lynx with 21 points and Maya Moore added 20 points and 6 rebounds. Lindsay Whalen suffered a sprained left wrist and played just 25 minutes and had 6 points.

The Minnesota Lynx began defense of their WNBA title with a 78-70 win over Seattle Friday night. Lindsay Whalen led the Lynx with 20 points and 6 assists, Seimone Augustus added 19 points and Maya Moore added 16 points and 7 rebounds.
