A head-on collision near Willmar has claimed the lives of three people: a 68-year-old woman, her adult daughter and her 8-year-old granddaughter. The State Patrol says the accident happened Friday about 9 p.m. on Highway 12.
A funeral is set for the 5-month-old son of Southwest Minnesota State men's basketball coach Brad Bigler and his wife Heather. Services for Drake Bigler will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in Marshall.

The Minnesota State Patrol says speed contributed to a February crash that killed four North Dakota State University students on their way back to school. The patrol also concluded that the driver was not driving for the conditions.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation has been working in recent years to install more cable barriers in the medians of highways and interstate where cross-median crashes tend to occur. Unfortunately, there was no cable median barrier along I-94 where four college students died Monday.
