Daylight saving time was instituted in the United States starting in 1918. The reason for it has been largely attributed to creating a way to save energy and to get more use out of the daylight we have.
The U.S. Senate voted unanimously to make daylight saving time permanent on March 15. This would eliminate switching our clocks twice a year. The bill still needs approval from the House and it would need to be signed by the President. The U.S. House hasn't moved as quickly as expected on voting for the bill.
Either Saturday night before you go to bed, or Sunday morning when you get up; remember to set your clocks ahead one hour -- but will this be the last time?
