St. Cloud State Hires Weems as A.D.
St. Cloud State has announced the hiring of Heather Weems as their new Athletic Director today at a press conference at their Welcome Center. The 37-year old Weems has been Associate Director of Athletics/Senior Women's Administrator at Drake University since 2009 after being Associate Athletics Director at Denver University from 2002-2009. Weems says she's excited to come to St. Cloud State and wants to start by reaching out and getting to know everyone in the Athletic Director and build relationships on campus and in the community.
Weems says she has no plans on moving St. Cloud State from Division II to Division I in football, basketball or other sports and is excited about the Division I hockey programs that SCSU does have. Weems is scheduled to take over for Morris Kurtz July 1.
