St. Cloud Council Considers Adoption of Regional Airport Authority

ST. CLOUD - The St. Cloud City Council is considering putting the "regional" in the St. Cloud Regional Airport.

During tonight's (Monday) meeting, the council will discuss creating a regional airport authority.  That would mean the city would share the responsibility of overseeing the Airport's operation with Stearns, Benton and Sherburne Counties.

The authority would operate like a joint powers agreement, having all the powers of a city including the ability to levy a tax, hire staff, and enter into agreements.
