LITCHFIELD -- Severe storms caused damage to multiple properties in Meeker County this weekend.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office says the severe storms on Saturday night caused damage to trees, power lines and houses from Litchfield to Darwin.

Brian and Jane Rethlake reported all buildings on their property in the 65200 block of 230th Street had been severely damaged or destroyed, including roof, window and water damage to their house. The report says the storm caused about $80,000 in damage to the Rethlake's property.

The National Weather Service reportedly said rotation was showing up on radar and there was a strong possibility of a tornado in the area. One resident of the area reported seeing a funnel cloud.

Authorities say significant damage was also reported at Sparboe Farms in the 65000 block of Highway 12 but no dollar amount of the damage has been released.
