SARTELL -- Members of the Sartell Police Department will be firing up the grills today (Thursday) for the 7th annual "Cookout with Cops."

The event is part of the Seniors And Law Enforcement Together Program (SALT). Officers will be grilling hotdogs and hamburgers for the senior residents in Sartell.

Sartell Police Cheif Jim Hughes says "the event is a way for seniors to get to know others who live in the community and the police officers who serve them."

Live music will be provide by "Just Friends" and seminars on identity theft, and health safety will be given.

The cookout will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church in Sartell from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The event is free to all seniors ages 55 and older.
