It’s summertime, and one of the favorite activities this time of year is going off road. To be honest, going off road is a favorite hobby year-round. To make the experience the most fun and successful, having the proper equipment is one of the most important aspects.

And when you take to the off-road terrain, you need to trust that the equipment that you are using is going to work properly. That’s what makes this recall a bit concerning.

Going off road starts with the vehicle you use, and if you own a CFMOTO ROV, this could affect you. The company has recalled their ZFORCE 950 HO Sport Side by Side that were made in 2022 and 2023.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, The issue according to CFMOTO is that this model has shown problems with their shock absorbers, which when you’re going off road, you want them working properly for sure.

The problem is shock absorber rod assembly can unthread and detach from the vehicle. If this happens, the suspension will collapse and create, at best, a very unpleasant ride, and on the other end of the spectrum, could cause the vehicle to crash and roll over on the occupants.

These models from 2022 and 2023 were sold in grey, orange and tan colors. CFMOTO is printed across the front of the vehicle and ZFORCE is printed on the side of the chassis. The VIN is stamped on the frame just in front of the right rear wheel.

Thus far there have been 86 incidents reported with this issue, and one of those did cause the vehicle to tip over on the rider and fractured their ribs.

Even though these models were made in 2022 and 2023, you could have purchased one up to June of this year. If you have bought one of these CFMOTO models, here’s what you do.

Stop using the vehicle immediately and contact your dealer for a free repair.
