MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The parents of a 19-year-old college student found frozen to death in southeast Minneapolis three years ago are suing paramedics for alleged negligence.

Bill and Kristi Anderson maintain that first responders failed to deliver appropriate care for Jake Anderson after he was found along the Mississippi River following a party in December 2013. He died of hypothermia.

The federal lawsuit that seeks hundreds of thousands of dollars also blames personnel from Hennepin County Medical Center and Minneapolis police.

Reports say the hospital didn't comment, citing the ongoing litigation. The Minneapolis city attorney's office issued a statement saying first responders are not responsible for Anderson's death.
