Ordinance Against Throwing Fruits And Vegetables Onto Sidewalk May Be Repealed [AUDIO]
ST. CLOUD - It's unclear how it became a St. Cloud city ordinance, but now more than 100 years later it is coming off the books. The ordinance is the "prohibition of throwing, dropping or placing of fruit or vegetable matter upon sidewalks".
Public Health Director Lisa Schreifels says it is an old provision that is duplicated in the city's nuisance ordinance...
Schreifels says the move is basically to clean up the books and reduce what is a redundant law.
The city council will have a public hearing on the change Monday night before repealing it.
