ST. CLOUD -- Northstar Link says Commuter Bus ridership is at an all time high.

According to a news release, September 2013 saw an 18 percent increase with more than 5,400 riders and a seven percent increase from September 2012.

Stearns County Commissioner Leigh Lenzmeier says the top reasons people use the service are, cost savings, stress-free travel and convenience.

The commuter bus runs along the highway 10 corridor connecting St. Cloud and Minneapolis with stops between St. Cloud and Big Lake.

The Northstar Link is open seven days a week with limited weekend service. Lenzmeier says she gives some credit to the St. Cloud State University Mass Communications students.

Students participated in a class project to bring campus awareness to Northstar.
