COLLEGEVILLE - A new Principal is taking over at Saint John's Preparatory School.

Pamela McCarthy will take over the position in July. She previously served as the Interim Assistant Division Director and Dean of Students for the Latin School of Chicago. She has also served the school as a teacher and department chair.

"Since becoming an administrator for the Latin School of Chicago, she has created and implemented new advisory curriculums for high school students. She has also developed program changes and reconfigured the school's disciplinary process," a news release from the school says.

McCarthy holds a Master of Education degree from DePaul University. She also has a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine from Quinnipiac University. McCarthy is a Co-founder and member of the Chicago-Area Deans of Students Network.

Current Principal Matthew Reichert announced his resignation in January. McCarthy visited Saint John's Prep on April 6th and took part in open meetings with parents, students and faculty.
