If you look around, it’s easy to see that people are taking advantage of the warmer weather, getting outside to enjoy their hobbies. Everywhere you look you see boats being pulled behind trucks, or trailers carrying ATV’s, UTV’s and motorcycles.

For those who enjoy going off road on two wheels, you need to be aware of a recall on a popular brand of motorcycles. Three models of Honda motorcycles have been listed by the Consumer Safety Product Commission.

Models CRF50F, CRF110F, and CRF125F made in 2023 and 2024 were recalled on July 3rd. The CRF50F and CRF110F were sold in red and white colors while the CRF125F was sold in all red.

All three models have HONDA printed on the seats and the model number is painted on the frame of the bike just above the engine. All three of the models will have their VIN displayed on the left side of the steering head.

The CSPC says that the risk is that while the bike is being operated, the grip can become detached from the handlebar, which of course is not a good thing. You can check to see if your bikes VIN is included in the recall by clicking here.

This presents a crash hazard that could result in serious injury or worse. Over 40,000 of these bikes were sold. If your bike is included, you should stop riding it immediately and contact your local dealer for an appointment to have it inspected and repaired.

As of the announcement of the recall, there had been one report on a crash from this issue. The rider sustained a knee injury in that accident.
