Martin D. Schliep, 55, of Brainerd, MN died on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at his home. Services for Martin will be held at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 11:00AM. Visitation one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be held at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.

Martin was born on July 11, 1959 in Long Beach, CA to Deryle and Dianne (Kashmark) Schliep. He graduated from Spring Lake Park High School in 1977. Marty entered the United State Marines from 1979-1982. He worked at Stearns Manufacturing in Riverton until his disability. After an 18 year engagement, Marty was united into marriage to Billie Jean Daniels on February 19, 2013 at Breezy Point Resort in Breezy Point, MN. Marty enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing with his grandchildren. He liked to play pool and watch the Vikings play football. Marty loved listening to Blues and Classic Rock music.

Marty is survived by his wife, Billie Jean; mother, Dianne Schliep; daughter, Melinda; two step-sons, Tom Daniels and Michael Daniels; brothers, David Schliep and Mike Schliep; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Deryle. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, MN.
