MELROSE -- A Melrose-area man was taken to the hospital after getting his hand and arm caught in a piece of farm equipment.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office responded to a call from an address in Melrose Township on Monday around 1:15 p.m. Authorities say 56-year-old Glenn Hinnenkamp was working on his round hay baler when his hand and arm became pinned between two rollers.

Hinnenkamp's wife reportedly turned the tractor and baler off, and first responders were able to pull his arm from the machine.

Hinnenkamp was taken to the Melrose Hospital with serious injuries to his hand and arm.
