I've heard of Christmas in July, but never Halloween in July. That's changing as Reese's has released their Halloween-shaped treat for purchase, a full 3 months before the October holiday. But you won't be finding them in the grocery stores, at least just yet.

Food & Wine wrote about the early availability of sweet peanut buttery treats, which are quite popular with candy fans. (There's more peanut butter with the pumpkin, versus the traditional peanut butter cups with more chocolate).

Hershey's which is Reese's parent company made the pumpkin-shaped treat available online only, yesterday, and there's no word on how long they may be available.

"...Anyone looking for the taste of this autumnal staple can go to shop.hersheys.com and pick up the first Reese’s Peanut Butter Pumpkins of the season. It’s unclear how long they’ll be on offer, or how long they’ll last once fans descend on the supply — so if you don’t want to wait another six weeks or so to find them on store shelves, you can wait a few days for the bag to show up on your doorstep." - Food & Wine

This is a big deal as the non-traditionally shaped snack, is consistently one of the top sellers for the company during the Halloween season.

The pumpkin-shaped treat is expected to hit retailers' shelves in about 6 weeks, marking their grocery store appearance towards the middle of September, which is about right for the seasonally shaped confection.
