Foley Police Looking Into Death Investigation

FOLEY -- Authorities in Foley are looking into a death investigation. The incident happened just after 11:00 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Glen Street.

Foley Police Chief Katie McMillin says authorities were responding to a welfare check on an individual who appeared to be sleeping in their vehicle.

When police arrived they found the person in the vehicle had died. McMillin says it's believed the victim died as a result of a self-inflicted injury.

The victim's body was taken to the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office for identification.

McMillin says there is no danger to the public.
