When I first heard about a movie about Bob Dylan's life, how his career began and what has transpired since, I did have my doubts on how good it would be.  Because whenever something like that is done, about someone that iconic, I'm always skeptical, but also hopeful that it will be good.

When I saw that it was Timothee Chalamet playing the part of Bob Dylan, I could totally see it.  But when I heard that he would be doing the singing, not dubbing in Dylan's actual voice, the skepticism popped in again.  But happily, this seems to be pretty amazing.

The first trailer dropped yesterday, and I know it's only about 2 minutes long, but this looks like it's absolutely a must see.

Chalamet spent some time in Hibbing, Minnesota in order to get a feel for how Dylan grew up.  He even went to the high school and surprise the drama class there while they were rehearsing a play. I love it when famous people are willing to talk with regular people, especially kids in high school.  They will remember that experience forever.

From the Hollywood Reporter:

Timothée Chalamet channels Bob Dylan in the first trailer for James Mangold’s upcoming biopic A Complete Unknown.

The Dune actor takes on the role of the iconic folk singer-songwriter, who became a counter-culture force in the 1960s.

Chalamet has also said he does his own singing for the role — just like his Dune Part 2 co-star Austin Butler did for his role in Elvis — building on his musical work following his performance in Wonka.

The film "A Complete Unknown" also stars one of my favorite actors Edward Norton as Pete Seeger, who is known for songs like "If I had a Hammer", "This Land is Your Land" and "Where Have All the Flowers Gone".

This is definitely a movie I will see in the theatre.  The film does not have an official release date yet, but is thought to be released in December.
