MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Twins beat the Tampa Bay Rays 5-3 Saturday afternoon.

Brian Dozier hit a 2-run home-run in the eighth inning to break the 2-2 deadlock. Two batters later Byron Buxton drove in Joe Mauer to put the Twins up 5-2.

Twins starter Adalberto Mejia pitched 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits. Minnesota closer Brandon Kintzler closed out the game and earned his 13th save of the season.

The Twins are now three games ahead of the Cleveland Indians for 1st place in the American League Central.
