ST. CLOUD -- Independent Lifestyles invites you to join the community wide event "Celebration of Abilities" this evening.

The event is free and open to the public and will be at the Tuscan Center at Midtown Square from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Cara Ruff is the Executive Director for Independent Lifestyles. She says the event is meant to educate the community.

Along with a free dinner and door prizes, there will be guest speakers -- Natalie Davis, a former Miss Minnesota, and her brother Trevor Davis.

Ruff hopes the event tonight helps shed light on topic that is often misunderstood.

The Disability Awareness Task Force holds events like this every year, and Ruff says it's a great way to hear inspiring stories and have a great time.
