NORWOOD YOUNG AMERICA, Minn. (AP) - Carver County sheriff's officials say an off-duty deputy and a man injured in a confrontation involving a gun have both been treated at hospitals and released.
Authorities say the off-duty McLeod County deputy just happened to be at a Kwik Trip gas station in Norwood Young America when Carver County deputies were called about an unruly patron about 2:40 a.m. Friday.
The deputy and patron got into a struggle and a firearm was discharged.
The male patron fled but was later found a few blocks away. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and has been released.
The off-duty deputy was taken to Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia where he was treated.
