With the thunderstorm complex from this morning having shifted well off to the east, the chances for thunderstorms this afternoon and evening have greatly diminished.
Scattered thunderstorms are expected today, mainly this afternoon, with more numerous thunderstorms tonight. The greatest chance for severe storms will be over central Minnesota, north of a line from Canby to New Prague.
There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms across the area later this (Wednesday) afternoon and tonight. Thunderstorms should develop over the eastern Dakotas into western Minnesota , and continue to the east overnight.

A massive tornado touched down just south of Oklahoma City on Monday, killing dozens.
At least seven of those killed were students at Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore. The twister, which measured 2 miles at one point, has been given a preliminary classification of an EF-4 tornado (winds of 166 to 200 mph), according to weather officials.
