UNDATED - The National Weather Service says scattered thunderstorms are expected today, mainly this afternoon, with more numerous thunderstorms tonight.

The greatest chance for severe storms will be over central Minnesota, north of a line from Canby to New Prague.

The greatest hazards will be hail over one inch, and winds over 60 miles an hour.

From tomorrow (Friday) through the weekend, there will remain a slight risk of severe thunderstorms both Friday and Saturday.

Again, the greatest risk will be for one inch hail and wind over 60 miles an hour.

Periods of heavy rain will also be possible, which may lead to flash flooding, and significant rises on area rivers.
