AUSTIN, Minn. (AP) - A dog has been reunited with its owner after Austin firefighters rescued it from a house fire.

Reports say that firefighters emerged with the dog minutes after forcing their way into the home.

Fire Chief Jim McCoy says rescue personnel gave the distressed dog oxygen and rushed it to a local veterinary clinic. He says the dog's condition had improved by the time it reached the vet.

McCoy says no one was injured and the home suffered minor damages that can be repaired.

McCoy says the fire started in the kitchen Saturday afternoon but authorities are still investigating the cause.
